Hold a full clean driving licence for Cat B vehicles, E
Hold a full clean driving licence for Cat A, C, D and C+E vehicles, D
Hold an Emergency Service blue light driving qualification, D
Hold a Degree (or higher) or Equivalent level of theoretical knowledge, E
Hold qualifications in the examination of motor vehicles of all types, E
Hold qualifications in Collision Investigation, E
Hold Qualifications in teaching or related field, D
Experience
Have at least 5 years’ experience in investigating collisions, E
Have published papers in a related field, D
Have extensive experience of the Court process, E
Have extensive experience in writing expert reports, E
Have extensive experience in proving live evidence to a Court, E
Have extensive experience in both Criminal and Civil forums, D

Applicants will be required to provide an up-to-date CV and CPD record at the point of expressing an interest. Thereafter, the process will consist of 3 stages:
Stage 1: The submission of 2 historic example collision investigation reports completed by the applicant, with associated exhibits (redacted as appropriate). This is intended for the applicant to demonstrate their current level of work.
Stage 2: Successful applicants at Stage 1 will be invited to undertake an independent analysis of some sanitised disclosure and conduct a reconstruction of the events of the collision, and present their findings in report form.
Stage 3: Successful applicants at Stage 2 will be invited to attend a panel interview/assessment.
